These tend to be measured by equipment such as finger clips. We\u2019ll learn some techniques and exercises to take away which will help us to balance ourselves in our hectic and demanding lives. It&#8217;s important for our young people to recognise unhealthy behaviours and the impact they can have on our mental wellbeing. Sharing strategies to help with anxieties, stress and worries, this programme will help Calm our young learners.<\/p><p>Pre &amp; Post Evaluation to be collected\u2013 individual reports provided.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a0b9885 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a0b9885\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<table width=\"698\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"698\"><h2><strong>EPIC &#8211; Comic Strip Conversations<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"698\"><p>Comic Strip Conversations is a technique that was first developed by Carol Gray as a follow on from her work developing Social Stories. \u00a0Comic Strips help develop a student\u2019s understanding of a social interaction and helps the student to know how to behave\/react in different social interactions.\u00a0 It\u2019s a natural follow on from Social Stories and tends to work best with older children and young people from the ages of 10 upwards \u2013 depending on their level of maturity.<\/p><p>Each comic strip is created individually to the student in mind.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f846d7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5f846d7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<table width=\"698\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"698\"><h2>\u00a0<strong>EPIC &#8211; Cool Minds<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"698\"><p>The intervention aims to provide children with a level of psychoeducation to help them to understand their anxiety and provide them with strategies to cope with excessive worry.<\/p><p>For children with anxiety, it is thought that negative thinking styles can exacerbate the negative emotions of anxiety and fear. Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT) for anxiety aims to <strong>identify and manage these negative thoughts<\/strong>. Using this model, psychologists suggest that if you can change the way you think, you can change the way you feel and behave.<\/p><p>The \u2018Cool Minds\u2019 programme is underpinned by CBT principles and whilst the intervention is <u>not<\/u> CBT, it uses the theoretical principles behind it to scaffold the children\u2019s learning through managing their thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.<\/p><p>This programme includes 10 sessions and has both a primary and secondary version available.<\/p><p>Group size: up to 6 children<\/p><p>Optional: This programme is available for staff to be coached in to deliver this themselves.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-976a920 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"976a920\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<table width=\"698\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"698\"><h2>\u00a0<strong>EPIC &#8211; Sunbites<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"698\"><p><strong>7- week session group intervention to support young people to manage anxiety, build self-esteem and confidence<\/strong><\/p><p>This is an intervention programme based on the EPIC Sunflowers curriculum (see below). To read others\u2019 emotions and to understand their own. To recognise how our bodies react to emotions and that some contrasting emotions can feel similar to each other. It also teaches that people can feel and act differently in situation and that sometimes people act\/react in ways we don\u2019t expect.<\/p><p>It introduces flexible thinking and practices how we can look at situations differently.
