EPIC’s Offer to Schools
EPIC Psychology now sits as part of the new In-TACT Service (Inclusion – Therapies, Assessment, Consultation and Training Service) which is Discovery Schools Multi-Disciplinary Team. Currently the teams within In-TACT include Speech and Language Therapy, Counselling and Music Therapy.
EPIC Psychology’s work falls into four areas:
- Central offer (critical incident, behaviour policy etc) plus SENDCo Network attendance and ELSA Network.

School Universal Offer
- Planning meeting
- Attendance for 1 member of staff to attend all Synergy events (a choice of 3 topics)
- Staff members to attend webinars on neurodiversity (3 x autism – Autumn term; 3 x ADHD – Spring term)
- Parents to attend webinars (waiting for a diagnosis – Autumn term; ADHD – Summer; anxiety – Spring)
- MeLSA (Mediated Learning Support Approach) Training and Supervision
- ELSA Training
- ELSA Supervision sessions for trained ELSAs
- Emotional Wellbeing Survey and report
- Resources to support EP reports Screener work, interventions and project evaluations (Patterns of Friendship/Early Literacy Difficulties)
- Psychometric assessment training for SENCos
- EP representation at ELSA Network meetings
- Training for school staff to run interventions (Understanding my Neurodiversity, Cool Minds, Viewpoints, Growing Talents for Friendships, EPIC Detectives etc)
Triaged Offer for Discovery Schools
- Parental therapeutic worker (SPACE – for anxious children / Breaking the Cycle – attunement of parents)

- TA support groups for those supporting complex SEMH in mainstream
- Follow-up EP recommendations from reports (operationalising these)

| ADOS Assessment | 90-minute assessment | The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is a standardized diagnostic assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder. It consists of a series of interactive semi-structured and structured tasks tailored to the child’s level. The trained professionals will observe for the presence or absence of behaviours that are important to the diagnosis of Autism. ADOS is not a standalone assessment but significantly contributes towards a multidisciplinary team discussion around diagnosis. | Educational Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist | 1 child | |

The outcome of this assessment will be a better understanding of the child’s sensory profile in order to help them function more successfully in the classroom. | Supervision for school staff inc. Class Teacher Drop ins | 30-45 mins | EPIC’s Educational Psychologists have a breadth of knowledge surrounding children’s academic and mental health needs that they want to share with Class Teachers in order to help them support their class children. EPIC are offering drop-in sessions for Class Teachers to provide them with some one-to-one time with an Educational Psychologist. During this time, the Educational Psychologist will answer any questions you may have around a child’s report, a child’s needs, and/ or any concerns about the mental health of your class children. Discussions can remain anonymous or be centred around case children already known to EPIC. | Educational Psychologist | ||
